Originally created in 1955, the Luxemburg Sportsman’s Club was founded by local sportsmen. The first site was located on the corner of County AB and Heritage Road just northeast of the Village of Luxemburg where they raised pheasants and shot trap.
Soon outgrowing the original spot, the Luxemburg Sportsman’s Club was moved to a new location at Veeser’s pond, east of Luxemburg on Sunset Road. At this new site, the Club continued to hold trap shooting. A new sport of outdoor archery began, using a range set up across the road from the pond. The final additional sport of fishing was added, as many families visited on Sundays after church to fish for trout in Veeser’s Pond.
In 1959, Luxemburg Sportsman's Club moved to its final and current location on Hwy 54, halfway between Luxemburg and Casco. A total of 80 acres was purchased from Robert & Elaine Dorner. The story goes that the original building on the property was a chicken coop, which was placed where the trap shed is now which was used to house initial board meetings. It is unknown when the original bar was built, and in 1975 the archery hall was added to the bar building. The hall held yearly dances. In 1999, the bar was increased in size and remodeled to its current state.
